Be focused, and stay Productive
Most of us when the term finally ends, we do normally say things like "Finally I am going to work on the objectives I missed out on" only for the break to end without even touching a single book of yours.
I am not saying this is your mistake as I know that sometimes it can get quite tiring, especially for the end of the year break.
In this post, I am going to be addressing things like this and the way to overcome them from my experience. ( currently, my goal for today was to study Physics, Maths, and French but ended up procrastinating with writing this post, guess it is great procrastination : )😄
WHAT TO DO OVERCOME NOT STUDYING
1) USE POMODORO STRATEGY
As said in one article by "todoist" - Pomodoro is a popular time management method that asks you to alternate pomodoros — focused work sessions — with frequent short breaks to promote sustained concentration and stave off mental fatigue.
So the way this is done you just have to set up a timer with breaks in between to finish all your planned study sessions, for example, set 25mins for studying and then a 5mins break.
You may use study apps like " Forest App " which makes things easy while having fun with it.
If this is your first time trying this Pomodoro technique, then you may want to start by studying less minutes in your sessions and having longer breaks for example studying 25mins and taking a 10mins break while a pro might take this 10mins break while studying for 60mins. This is to prevent you from actually becoming overwhelmed and quitting on your first day of studying, and not even studying the next day since you feel that it is boring and causes a headache.
When you continue with pomodoro you may want to increase your time as you go by and as you get comfortable with a certain timing you may want to improve to the next timing.
WHAT YOU MAY WANT TO DO
Get a to-do list and a timer.
Set your timer for 25 minutes, and focus on a single task until the timer rings. When your session ends, mark off one pomodoro and record what you completed. Then enjoy a five-minute break. After four pomodoros, take a longer, more restorative 15-30 minute break.
2) BUY REVISION TEXTBOOKS
You may want to buy some revision textbooks I am sure you will thank me later for this - I actually bought some revision books for Physics, Chemistry and English since I am not that really strong in them.
I have been using them for studying and to be honest, these books have been helpful since they only contain the important stuff other than a textbook which can lead to reading struff that is not even going to be on the exam.
And one thing I have noticed about these revision books is that they have revision questions at the back and also have answers which is one thing I need for Chemistry. Chemistry is one tough subject that one cannot do without any validation from anyone.
You may these in online stores like Amazon, Ebay and even in Cambridge. ( it has an online book shop for GCSE'S which is not even that expensive, you can even find flashcards in there)
3) BUY CUTE AESTHETIC STATIONERY
Get into a shop which sells stationery and find some cute pencils, pens e.t.c in there
You might be suprised that you feel motivated to study after buying this new stationery.
But you do not need to be that aesthetic all you may need are flashcards, highlighters, coloured pens and there you go, and do not worry about your handwriting not being cute.
4) JOIN YOUTUBE LIVE STREAMS ( STUDY WITH ME )
You may want to study with these live streamers on YouTube as you would that you are studying with other people and motivate you to continue to study even more.
I have joined and subscribed to Pascal Zoels ( search on youtube ) he live streams everyday on YouTube and the breaks are even more enjoyable as he will chat for the whole time with his fans or subscribers. So consider joining 😄
And make sure to take care of yourself, do little mini self time, face care, also clean the environment you are studying this can help to motivate you to study, reduce distrations around you. Hope you have good holidays, STUDY WELL !!!
